I remember the first 2 days when Australia pounded on those runs...then, Kapil Dev playing with tailenders mainly to save the follow-on. Then, the last day...WOW!!! it gives me goosebumps thinking about that match even now.
What was surprising was Shastri's coolness at that situation. There were batsmen (if you can call people like Shivlal Yadav that) coming in and then departing after hitting one boundary. Shastri played the final over of Matthews well and ensured that India didnt lose from that point. Finally, the lbw of Maninder Singh, given by the umpire...triggered off celebrations in the ground. GREAT MATCH!!!
I though feel that India did very well coming back from the situation of 1st innings score of Australia (574) to tie the match.
