Open Letter to the BCCI

Dear BCCI,

It does not matter if you are not looking at the injury management issue that John Gloster has raised recently. You can mention that it is part of the rotation policy (by default) that you have come up with.

It does not matter if you do not properly schedule important tours to countries like Australia with just one practice match (which eventually gets rained off) before the test series. You can mention that as an international team, the players are supposed to adjust.

But, what matters is that you need to back up your team (which is doing so well in spite of your best efforts) when they suffer from bad umpiring decisions consistently from an umpire who is past his retirement-age. Steve Bucknor has been time and again giving bad decisions (mostly against Sachin Tendulkar) - it is high time we protest against the ICC to have him officiate in Indian tests. Just look at the way your Sri Lankan counterparts backed themselves against Darrell Hair when he called Murali a chucker.

In the current Sydney test, the Indians took the wicket of Symonds thrice, but he finished not out, thanks to the umpiring decisions of Steve Bucknor and the third umpire.

If you feel that this is not your responsibility, then you have to hand over the running of the company to Kapil Dev and his team.

regards
An ardent cricket fan of the Indian team.
