The Indians won the series against Sri Lanka with ease, thanks to the exploits of Virat Kohli and earlier, Manoj Tiwary with the ball. The Lankans were handicapped by the absence of Sangakkara in the batting and Kulasekara in the bowling division. The team seemed to be devoid of any motivation to win the match - what else can explain the fall of wickets to Tiwary!
Kohli hit another century and covered up the absence of runs from the top order. Only Sehwag to a little extent and Suresh Raina supported Kohli with runs from the other end. Rohit did not score despite his captain's support (by dropping a regular bowler to retain him and give Tiwary a chance)!
In the next match, India will do well to give chances to Rahane and Umesh while resting Zaheer and Dhoni from the team. Will the Boards realize the futility of such series and stop organizing these contests? There is lack of interest from either side (except Kohli maybe)!
