Challenger Trophy

Whats the big deal about the Challenger Trophy? Will someone be identified during this tournament other than the top-20 players in the country? I doubt it.

Its a good opportunity for players like Rahul Dravid, Viru Sehwag, Yuvi, Dhoni to get back into batting form and Pathan to get back to bowl.

Whatever Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan, VVS perform in these matches - its of no use - since the troika doesnt seem to be with a chance to get selected. They are playing under Mohd. Kaif as well. See where they have gone down to.

Sreesanth is now in the 2nd XI - which is mysterious. WHY? What has he done after the Windies tour that has made him less valuable compared to RPS. Is it the bad form of Irfan Pathan? Because of Irfan's current bad form, the think-tank might be forced to think of RPS (left-armer) to add variety. So, who has to bear the axe? Not Munaf or Ajit Agarkar - it has to be Sreesanth!!! Or is it the attitude problem?

Would be interesting to see how Piyush Chawla plays in this tournament. This guy is really worth a watch. One more youngster that I wanted to watch was Vidyuth S - who looks like because of bad luck/injuries didnt have a good last season and is not in any of the 3 squads this time.

How does a guy called "Reetinder Singh Sodhi" make it to the squads regularly is something I havent been able to digest. He is one of our old Junior stars who was given enough chances to prove himself but failed.

The other guys whom I am looking at (for their performances) are Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, Tejinder Pal Singh, Ashish Nehra, L Balaji - the last 2 returning from injuries.
