RCB flexed their muscles at the end of their chase to deny the debutants, Kochi Tuskers, a dream start in IPL4. AB De Viliers guided the team through the chase and as can be seen in the worm below, the over bowled by Gomez (17th) proved to be vital. Mahela opted for Gomez in place of the mercurial Sreesanth but that turned out to be helpful for RCB. VVS Laxman and McCullum had given a good start for Kochi in the first innings with their own style of play but the score put up was not good enough at the end.
